Pumpkin & Nuts Halloween Squares

If you want to celebrate Halloween with the kids, , I suggest you a a delicious , nutritious and funny cake with the quintessential symbol of autumn , the pumpkin , which by this time abounds in any market or organic farm home . For a fun note I decided to add some gums [ my favorite treat ] and a kind of black crosses made of dark bitter chocolate - which can be quite easily be mistaken for any prehistoric bird so imperfect that came out - and give  a Dantesque grave tone to some  pumpkin , cinnamon and nuts squares that are so tasty , they could easily make the dead raise! God forbid! ;)


  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup of crushed nuts
  • whole nuts
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 400g cooked pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
In a bowl place the eggs , sugar , oil , cinnamon and beat . Add the  clean, previously cooked and drained pumpkin beat again. You'll have a liquid a cream that you'll pour into a glass bowl, in which you will mix the flour , the baking powder and beforehand grounded nuts . Add a generous amount of nuts coarsely chopped . Turn on the oven to 180 º . Grease a pan with butter spray and pour the batter.  Take it to the oven to bake for about 45 minutes. Do the toothpick test.

Se quiser celebrar o Halloween com os miúdos, de uma forma deliciosa, nutritiva e engraçada, sugiro-lhe um bolo com o símbolo do outono por excelência, a abóbora, que por esta altura abunda por qualquer mercado ou quinta biológica caseira. Em tom de brincadeira decidi juntar umas gomas [a minha guloseima favorita] e uma espécie de cruzes de chocolate negro - que podem ser perfeitamente confundidas com um pássaro pré histórico qualquer de tão imperfeitas que saíram - e dar o tom dantesco de uma sepultura a uns quadrados de abóbora, canela e nozes que, de tão saborosos, até fazem ressuscitar os mortos!Salvo seja! ;)

  • 4 ovos
  • 1 chávena de açúcar amarelo
  • 1/2 chávena de óleo
  • 2 chávenas de farinha
  • 1 chávena de nozes moídas
  • nozes inteiras 
  • 2 colheres de chá de fermento
  • 400g abóbora menina cozida
  • 2 colheres de sopa de canela

Numa taça colocar os ovos, o açúcar, o óleo,  a canela e bater. Juntar a abóbora limpa e previamente cozida e escorrida e bater.  Fica uma creme líquido que se verte para uma taça, na qual se vai misturar a farinha, o fermento e as nozes moídas previamente. Adicionar uma quantidade generosa de nozes partidas grosseiramente. Ligar o forno a 180º. Untar uma forma com manteiga em spray, e verter a massa. Levar ao forno a cozer durante cerca de 45 minutos. Fazer teste do palito.

Dry Leaves Garland - DIY

I love strolling through parks, the countryside or even the woods near my house as soon as Fall arrives. I get lost in the immensity of hues that surround me, the countless shades of green, brown, red, orange that populate in the the tree branches, dressing them with a wonderful and stunning cloak of colourful leaves that will eventually fall down, leaving them bare, naked and exposed, as my soul before them!

Beneath My Feet

One of the items I will certainly have to purchase for the new house are carpets and rugs and I anticipate no easy task! With numerous textures, patterns, and colors available, the carpet is emerging as the focal point in some interior designs. It beautifies your room, create cozy corners in your house, provides warmth, balance and colour to your home and help you create a perfect atmosphere, but the variety is so big that the choice acan be overwhelming.
