May Beauty Buys

May was all about saving money but acquiring great affordable products that still made me feel and look polished, well put together...and smelling amazingly! I hope you'll like them.

1.  I love that this shampoo leaves my fine and highlighted hairfeeling soft and silky. It is beautifully scented with hibiscus, ylang ylang and raspberry, which I really love and this scent lasts on my hair for most of the day.The shampoo is clear, with an orange tint to it and lathers up well on my hair. It rinses clean, without any feeling of residue and barely any tangles, although I always neeed to use the matching conditioner to look fully sleek and polished. A keeper for sure.

2. To me there's no other shower gel like Dove. I love its creamy and freshly scented formulas and I rotate them a lot. Lately I've been indulging in this  Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Shower Gel with coconut milk and jasmine petals, a combination so sweet and nourishing, that it had me absolutely after just one shower. Perfect beyond description, it leaves your skin soft, nourished, smooth and smelling deliciously.

3. This Long Handled Catctus Body brush by Body Shop plays a key role in turning an ordinary bathroom into an extraordinary home spa experience. Its length, balance and flatness allows it to really hit the spot, and not worry about breaking. Overall it is a nicely made brush, but it is a bit stiff. I find it great for feet but on the rest of my skin it is a bit painful to use. It'll be great to help stage the master bathroom, though!

The Khaki Bomber

This is a trend I've embraced open heartedly! When one of my favourte colours [ I love khaki green because it complements different skin tones and a variety of styles] mixes with a sporty cool piece like the bomber it's got to be part of my wardrobe staples. The bomber give you a hip and fashion-savvy look and it's a great alternative to  jackets during these spring months when the weather still makes them  a necessary part of our wardrobes and everyday outfits. Theslightly retro vibe of the khaki bomber, specially in a silky material, is perfect to dress down almost anything and looks great to up the ante of any  fitted sweater dress or a pleat skirt. What do you feel about it?

In The Mood For

{all into flowery patterns}

This whole week cloudy skies with the threat of thunderstorms have been a constant but somehow the weather has kept warm and bright and it was beautifully sunny yesterday what made for a great bank holiday, until this afternoon, when it restarted to rain cats and dogs. So this will be a perfect weekend to stay cozy creating homemade gifts for the next adults birthday parties I'm attending pretty soon, deep cleaning and thoroughly organizing the fridge, bringing the spa home with face masks and magazines and finally starting to decorate my office. Wish you a great one!I'm in the mood for...

Bacon,Flemish Cheese & Stuffed Green Olives "Bola"

Today's bank holiday was a balm into ending the week on a great note. Family get-together with savory comforting food and great talking was all I could wish for. Though lunch was pretty full this super tasty "bola" is now awaiting us, sided by a light lettuce and cherry tomatoes salad. If you have no idea whatsoever for dinner this one takes about 15 minutes to assemble and about 35m in the oven and believe me no one will be disappointed. Have a nice one!

  • 200gr bacon
  • onion
  • olive oil
  • green olives stuffed with orange pepper
  • Flemish cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 flour mugs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • qs salt

Crack the eggs into a bowl and Whisk them. When the eggs are fluffy and bulky add the milk and oil and beat again. Add the flour and baking powder and beat until everything is well blended. Season the dough with salt. Add the flour and baking powder and beat until everything is well mixed.Season the dough with salt. Reserve. In a frying pan sauté  half an onion and add the bacon and let cook a little. Add the cheese and the ingredients of the fryer to the dough. Mix well with a spoon. Place the dough in a mold, greased with butter and dusted with flour. Bake in preheated oven at 180ºC and cook for about 30-40 minutes. After the cake is cooked, remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding it.
